About Me
My name is James Davison, and I completed my studies at the University of Technology Sydney graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Data Science. I enjoy solving puzzles and understanding how things work, which naturally led me to engineering and, eventually, data engineering. The work in this field which excites me most is the ability to take raw, unstructured data and transform it into something meaningful that helps improve business decisions. Throughout my studies, I’ve discovered that I enjoy both the technical challenge of building reliable solutions and the satisfaction of seeing data answer real-world questions.
I have built a strong foundation in Python, SQL, Java, and machine learning through both coursework and independent projects. From developing a neural network spam email filtering tool and designing an interactive HTML web-based escape room to producing professional excel reports using stock market data and employee KPI datasets. Every project has been an opportunity to learn something new, strengthen my problem-solving skills, and explore how technology can create practical value.
I am currently working at PIP, which I have taken on after completing my internship there. Live reporting tasks required me to learn SAP cloud analytics and work closely with team members in the IT, Warehousing, and Customer Service department. This portfolio reflects not only the technical skills I have developed but also my curiosity, creativity, and commitment to continuous learning. As I begin my career, I am excited to contribute to innovative teams, build scalable data solutions, and continue growing as a data engineer who can turn complex data into meaningful impact.
